Once again this year, Epsom College in Malaysia’s students have secured offers to study at some of the world’s leading universities and we are incredibly proud of all of our students’ achievements. They have submitted applications to pursue their academic interests in a vast range of specialisms from Art to Drama; from Economics to Law; and from Medicine to Natural Sciences; as well as across a range of universities in the UK and globally.
Nearly all of our students who have applied to study in the UK have already received offers of a place, including offers from prestigious universities, such as Cambridge, Kings, UCL and Warwick. These offers are testament to the hard work of the students, and the College’s strong teaching faculty.
At Epsom College in Malaysia, students are encouraged to start considering their future pathway from Year 10, involving a strategic timeline of meeting the Head of Sixth Form and Head of Higher Education, to discuss the possible options available to them, as well as understanding how to plan ahead to make the strongest application possible.
In Years 12 and 13, students considering making an application to study at an elite university are offered a range of super-curricular activities to stretch and challenge beyond the curriculum. We ensure a personalised programme and connect our students with a subject-specific mentor, someone who is currently studying or who has graduated from the university to which the student is applying, where possible.
While the UK remains the most popular university destination for our students, every year many apply and receive offers to study at other prestigious global universities. Last year, universities in Canada, particularly University of British Columbia and University of Toronto, were popular and all applicants received offers of a place. Successful applications were also submitted to universities in Australia, Netherlands, South Korea and the USA.
This year, our students have submitted applications to Ivy League universities in the USA, as well as top Japanese universities. Those students are now eagerly waiting to hear the outcomes.
